Prayers for Kylie, God's little Warrior Project
On Dec. 30th, 2013, Kylie Rowand, a resident of nearby Alpine, CA was diagnosed with Stage 4 High-Risk Neuroblastoma. As a Medical Marijuana Collective we initially reached out to the family as a courtesy notification that THCSD is in their service area, and if/when they came to accept cannabis in her treatment, in whatever form, we would be here to help facilitate that care in whatever way possible. We really just wanted them to know that it is available, legally, and it's here!
It quickly became apparent that funds would be needed and again, THCSD stepped up on behalf of the MMJ Community and purchased funraising bracelets, pins and beads...arranged for a venue...and the rest is history! This is our first fundraiser for 2014, and it will be on going through February 15, 2014.
We can be found at the Alpine Farmer's Market, Saturday's 9am-2pm in the Pink Kylie booth, sponsored by...THCSD! We are selling raffle tickets for items that are continually being donated, and a few larger items that can be seen at the market. We are offering the Bracelets, Pins and Beads. If you would like to make a direct donation: please go to: gofundme.com/Prayers-for-Kylie.
Giving it back to the Community.....
Here we are the first weekend! This was the weekend of the blockparty so we expected a smalll crowd...but on the second weekend...we killed it again!!
The Pink Can campaign came right along with the Booth at the Alpine Farmer's Market...it seemed like the natural thing to do...and boy, was it fun picking up the $$ on the way to the bank every Monday morning!
Top right - Always willing to help out, we had Patient/Member volunteers, bank vounteers, and just volunteer/volunteers! We included THE Herald, they did a great spread on the beginning of Kylie's journey. It was the only story we could share!
HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM THE CLAUSE'S!
Tis the season to be jolly....again! We HO HO HO'd our way through the San Diego Chargers and Big Brother's/Big Sister's on Ice....always a good time! Where will you find the Clause's next?
Friday, December 12th @ 5pm in the Market in Pine Valley, CA - the MEMC will host Mr. and Mrs. Clause ~ Come on up to the North Pole, have cookies and hot cocoa, have a chat with Santa, and leave with a FREE picture to remember this experience for a lifetime! Please, join us.......
Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like a shoe box for the homeless! This year, we decided to throw a little back to the horribly unfortunate in San Diego. We are packing 10 shoe boxes - 8 for the guys and 2 for the gals and we're going to randomly distribute to anyone that looks like they could use a little holiday spirit! Our boxes include warm and fuzzy socks, toiletries, blankets and towels and a couple of non-essentials too! Merry Christmas from THCSD! We'll see you all in 2015!!!
In the spirit of Hemp History Week, and because we have worked so hard for a storefront/office/meeting place, we celebrated our Grand Opening of Mt. Hempire on May 30th, 2015. We will continue to offer and work our advocacy into 2016 and beyond. We're excited to formally join the Hemp revolution - "One seed at a Time"! Alpine is a welcoming community!
If you haven't already been there...you can find Mt. Hempire at www.mthempire.com, or stop by and visit us in person at
2535 Alpine Blvd. #2, Alpine, CA - OR firstname.lastname@example.org we'd love to hear from you!
